My interest in the patterns of the domestic, in responding to the familiar and the potential offered by the everyday are at the heart of my work. Making dark into light, light into dark, positive into negative, the shift between a drawing and a print or watercolour are some of the ideas that are evident in my work.

As an adult I have moved many times building and visiting many “nests”. Places that hold memory and for which I feel a deep and abiding affinity, those places for which I feel a connection, inform my practice and through the artmaking process take on a life of my making. The patterns, textures and sounds of a lovingly nurtured garden, a dining room table that has nourished many or a fabric detail, all hold the potential to be made “mine”.
